Let it Snow!!

Moments from our week:

After a very cold week, (too cold to go outside) Today it has been a nice winter day. Yes, a little cold but bundled up I went outside to get the mail and ended up sledding with the kids for a little bit. They just looked like they were having too much fun so i wanted to join in.... and no there is not pictures!! While I was outside the snowflakes were falling on my coat and i just love it when you can see the actual flake. Snowflakes really are so fascinating!! Every single one that fell on my sleeve looked different. I know we all "know" that no 2 snowflakes are alike but I just love seeing them when they are so perfectly made.

Yesterday the kids had friends over after school. They had a half day and Ella went in the morning for a change so it was perfect. Ella and her friend played dogs all afternoon in her bedroom while Howie and his friend took turns playing the lightning McQueen racing game on the PlayStation. Howie and his friend were laughing so hard the entire afternoon that it became contagious. I kept walking into the living room fearing that they were up to no good but they were just having a good ol time. I love days like that!!

Wednesday I took Howie to the Dr because he was complaining that his chest hurt when he took deep breaths. While nothing major is wrong, it's hard to explain but Motrin took care of the problem, Howie did get to have his chest xrayed. While we were having it done Howie was asking the tech a thousand questions on what she was doing and how it was going to work. When she was checking the x-rays i asked if she would show Howie the pictures on the screen. To my surprise(because i have never met a tech that would let me see my x-rays) she showed him and pointed out everything for him. He was in awe that this light could put his insides on a computer. It was a good science lesson for a Wednesday afternoon.

Ella is feeling better and we now know why she has had a belly ache for so long. She sees a pediatric urologist the end of February. Hopefully that Dr can help us to keep her on the belly ache free rd. I switched primary Dr's for Ella and I am so thankful to have her see a Dr that actually cares what mom thinks and takes me seriously.

Also, in my last blog i forgot a very important thing that happened during Christmas. Ella got her ears pierced. I put pictures of her getting it done on my picture site at www.kestner11.shutterfly.com She is always trying to find someone who doesn't know yet to show them off to. She is so cute and looking forward to February when she can change them.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and keeping warm!!

welcome to January

Well, it has been awhile since I have been on my blog. Sorry but life has been a little nuts and out of order. I am going to try to be more consistent but no promises:)

Since my last Blog here's our life:

We have moved to a 5 bedroom house with a 2 car garage. I think the best thing is the huge backyard for the kids to run and play. We are only about a mile from our old house so the kids still ride the same bus and go to the same schools.

Speaking of the backyard, on Christmas Eve we had a "reindeer" in our backyard digging apples out of the snow. I never knew that deer would dig the old fruit out of 2 feet of snow.

Jim got his splint off in November which means he is healed. Yeah. We pray that he doesn't break anything else ever!!

We got our old snow blower back from my dad which is wonderful for Jim to use on our driveway.

I survived winter break with the kids even though we had 2 extra snow days before and after break. By the end of the 2 weeks my kids were oh so worn out.

Howie had a school play called "Christmas on Candy Cane Lane" Howie was an elf and did an awesome job signing with his class and blowing his whistle lips when it was time.

Ella wants me to tell all of you about the snow fort her and Howie made today. It is beside the garage where they can "hide from mom!" go figure.

To check out my pictures that take way too long to add to this blog ck out www.kestner11.shutterfly.com I think you will like what you see!
